We want everyone who lives in Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes to have the opportunity to shape the services that they use.

This means making sure your voice is heard and sharing what you feel is most important.

The next few years are going to be challenging for health and care as we recover services after the pandemic. That makes it even more important that we keep our conversations with local people and communities going. That way, residents’ voices will be at the centre of all decisions about health and care services.

How can I get involved?

There are lots of ways that you can get involved.

    Mount Vernon Cancer Services Review

The NHS is reviewing the services provided at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, and we want to hear from as many people as possible, so we make the best possible changes.

We continue to support the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (MVCC) review which started in 2019 and is led by NHS England.

The NHS teams have wanted to hear about what does and does not work well, and what the priorities our local patients would be, so we have helped to promote the patient and public involvement opportunities.

Several sessions ran in 2020 and 2021 for patients and carers on different cancer pathways, and the general public, and received input into decisions about the way the whole service is organised. Involving patients, carers and local people is continuing as proposals are developed, and this will include a consultation on options.

For more information about the review, visit www.mvccreview.nhs.uk – this site has all you need to know about the review and latest updates, or email england.eoesct-projects@nhs.net. There is also a dedicated facebook page about the review here www.facebook.com/MVCCreview
